The Arad Evans Inn is a warm, friendly place with incredible food, extremely knowledgeable staff and service that runs exactly at the right speed.
For an appetizer, I ordered the Maitake Mushroom & Chesapeake Bay Crab Chowder. It was a perfectly balanced blend of crab meat, perfectly cooked corn that still had a little firmness to it, and a beautiful creamy base that tasted of crab and mushrooms. I love to cook and tinker with recipes, and there’s nothing I could even conceive of that would have improved this chowder. It’s an amazing creation and when you visit, you just have to order it.
For my entree, I ordered “The Special”, which was an Aged Filet Mignon, served at an absolutely perfect medium rare. It had a beautiful deep beefy flavor without being overpowering and was as tender as any beef I’ve ever eaten. It was served with perfectly cooked slightly crisp local vegetables and some roasted small potatoes. Everything was so astonishingly perfect and wonderful that after dinner was over, and I’d eaten everything, I was a little sad that I was finished.
This is easily one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. The only reason I say “One of” is because they’re all so different that it’s impossible to pick a single one as my favorite, however each is definitely #1 in it’s own category.
- Arad Evans Inn
- Dinosaur Barbecue
- Morimoto’s (Japanese/Fusion)
I can’t think of anything they could do to make it better and it looks like I’ll have to go back soon. Prices are slightly higher than Scotch ‘n Sirloin, and worth every penny.
